Blue Grace

And the new theme is Blue Grace made by Vladimir Prelovac. I have made some changes in order to enable the moving chess pieces and I also have to change some things in my previously published lessons to use the new theme to its full extent.
The images were replaced by chess pictures, but the original background remained unchanged. Do you miss the chess background I used in the previous theme?

I think it is time to change the wordpress theme, but I want to remember the Finishline theme. The picture below shows a reduced size image of a screendump.

I noted that the comments on the about page have been disappeared so I decided to make them reappear again.

Therefor I have added the following code to the Page template.

Now the comments are back, but maybe I have to reconsider at which pages comments are allowed and use a plugin like Move Comments to move the comments to a better (and less template dependent) place.

The new Wordpress theme I am going to use is called Finishline. I like this design very much and as you can see the resemblance with Cutline is rather large.
I have adapted the theme. I had to adapt it to be able to replay the chess games.
Furthermore the images of the racingcars were replaced by chess pictures. I even have added more pictures, but I didn’t change the background image that reminds me of a chess board.
The RSS-link has been moved to the same place as with the Cutline theme.

There are also some minor almost invisible changes and I may adapt the theme even further.

Do you like the new theme?

The old Wordpress theme

I am going to use a new Wordpress theme. I still have to adapt the new theme to some of my specific needs, but I think that this will be finished within a couple of days. At the moment I am running the new theme on my localhost.

To remember the old days a screendump of the old site with the Cutline theme is placed below. I liked this Cutline theme very much. It was crisp, clean and simple, but on Chess Teaching also a little bit dull.

Now the site is using an adapted version of the Cutline theme of Chris Pearson. It seems that that is theme is WordPress 2.1 compatible and can be rather easy adapted to the needs of this site.
I’ll hope that we can stick to this theme for quite some time and focus on the chess lessons.

The WordPress Theme has been changed, because of the fact that the lay-out of ordered and unordered lists in the Painted Desert theme was rather awkward.

We are now using Connections for the time being.

For the moment we use an adapted version of the painted desert theme but we plan to use our own theme after some time.

We like the theme, but it is not very chess related and the static pages seem to have disappeared.
