Show-FEN plugin 1.3
Posted on June 1st, 2007 by Chess Teacher
The Show-FEN plugin v1.3 can be downloaded here.
In addition to the original functionality the letterx x, o and v may be used.
Ater downloading and unzipping the plugin to an appropriate directory you still have to change the line
$path = “http://your.domain.name/plugindir/”;
to something which corresponds to the directory in which the pictures of the chess pieces can be found.
In the first post of the Show-FEN plugin you will find more information.

Hi
Thanks for the plugin, I am testing it on my blog with others, but I have always been a fan of palview, which is what this is based on..
Thanks again.
The tools are interesting… do they support different pieces fonts (e.g. Merida)?
What advantages do they give you vs. publishing from Chessbase?
My main blog is on blogger, so no file upload etc. possible, but I have some other Wordpress based sites in the pipeline.
Thanks, Roger
It is possible to use other pieces fonts like Merida, Leipzig, Linares and Tilburg with different sizes.
The resulting code is almost the same as in Palview (See http://www.enpassant.dk/chess/palview/index.htm), which I like very much. However I was unable to use this in a WordPress blog.
Hi again CT,
Nice plugin, thanks for sharing. One of these days I’ll be able to use it, but for the time being, I have it saved.
And to my friend Roger, how’s it going? Good to see you here. I’ve been meaning to drop by your blog lately, but RL, (a new business contract) has been keeping me extremely busy.
Take care my friends…
Ray
Hi CT
I have reviewed your fen reader and find it excellent and I have noticed on your site you have also added the reply feature and the menu option for moves (I am interested in this as well) however, I more interested in you continuing your development of this plug-in and I am willing to financially assist you in the further development.
Palview was and is a great product; I would like to see all the options available through Palview available in your plug-in as well as a easy method in wordpress to input data.
If your interested drop me a line, you have my email address.
@ Barry
Thanks for your review and your nice comment.
I will continue with the development of this plug-in as soon as possible, but at the moment I don’t have a lot of time and it is a pity that money won’t help me here.
The fact that more people are interested in this plugin is a stimulation to continue with the development.
As soon as a version of this plugin is usable I will make it available for free.
